Description

Production-made costume consisting of: Heavy wool trousers painted silver to simulate chainmail with suspenders and Velcro zipper; heavy wool undershirt painted silver to simulate chainmail with five leather and metal buckles to close front and two metal snaps in front to attach rest of costume; rubber collar painted silver with gold and silver detailing with Velcro and snaps to attach to costume, heavy cloth ribbed vest painted silver with zipper to close back and cloth hooks to attach rest of costume; horizontally pleated loincloth painted silver with suspenders, lace-up sides and chainmail tabard made of lightweight metal; two rubber trauma plates (one in front and back) painted silver with gold detailing with lacing to attach to costume, back plate has belt loop and Velcro to attach belt; rubber belt painted silver with gold detailing with designs etched into it and painted gold, silver, and reds throughout; rubber ribbed belt buckle painted silver with gold and copper detailing; two rubber gauntlets painted silver with gold detailing, top and bottom pieces are laced together; two rubber greaves painted silver with gold detailing with lace-up backs; rubber armor back plate painted silver with gold detailing with a cord on top for attaching to costume; and a black plastic skull cap with brown and gray highlights. Production-acquired black boots by Greb painted silver, size 11. Shirt, vest, and loincloth are size 42; collar measures 25in × 27in × 8in, armor plates 18in × 11in, trauma plates 11.25in × 20in, belt 42in × 3in, buckle 9.25in × 5in, and gauntlets 11in × 3.75in × 5in. No size information for trousers.

Notes

A complete Jaffa warrior costume, used in the production of Stargate SG-1. The Jaffa served as the assault force for the Goa’uld -- the primary antagonist throughout the first eight seasons of the series -- as well as incubators for the larval form of their masters. Teal’c, a lead character portrayed by Christopher Judge, was a member of this race.
